FFO creates outstanding musical and artistic performances, provides opportunities to local professional artists, makes opera accessible to a broader audience, and develops the next generation of artists.
Who we areFFO provides vital performance and creative opportunities for WA-based singers, directors, designers, and stage professionals, helping them build sustainable careers in the arts. Our engagement of nationally recognised performers ensures high artistic standards and mentorship opportunities for emerging talent. Over 180 singers, musicians and creatives have worked with FFO since 2016.
By presenting fresh, accessible productions of operatic classics, FFO introduces new audiences to opera while keeping long-time fans engaged. Since 2020 our Opera Truck has been engaged for over 300 performances in driveways, festivals and backyards. Transforming events into unforgettable experiences that touch the heart.
Through school tours, regional outreach, and educational initiatives, FFO fosters a love of opera in young people and ensures its future in Western Australia. Since 2021, Freeze Frame Opera has created five new school touring operas, reaching more than 20,000 children and teachers. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of The Stan Perron Foundation, students from schools with limited access to music programs have been prioritised —ensuring that every child has the chance to experience the joy and inspiration of live opera.
