RUSALKA

FEBRUARY 2019

FFO is in the process of adapting this massive work by Dvorak, based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, The Little Mermaid, into a 45 minute version of the opera that will be suitable for school children. It is the vision of FFO to tour this show to many schools in metropolitan and regional WA in order to give as many children as possible their first experience of opera. The cast is comprised of a witch (Ileana Rinaldi/Harriet O'Shannessy), a water goblin (Kris Bowtell), a prince (Jun Zhang) and a little mermaid (Prudence Sanders/Harriet O'Shannessy).

Caroline Badnall (pianist and musical director) has adapted the score and Anya Seabourne, together with Rachel McDonald are setting the new English text. Robbie Harrold is working on an amazing (and portable) design and the show will be directed by Andries Weidemann. We can't wait to launch this show in February 2019 at Camelot Theatre, and subsequently plan our tours around WA.

TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE: www.trybooking.com/WVSU ($50 adults / $20 children)

PERFORMANCE DATES: 19 - 22 February 2019 at 4.30 pm, and Saturday 23 February at 2 pm & 5 pm
