Based on Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, A Streetcar Named Desire follows Blanche DuBois’ tragic journey as she seeks refuge with her sister Stella in the vibrant streets of New Orleans. There she collides with Stanley Kowalski, setting in motion one of theatre’s most gripping psychological dramas. Andre Previn’s richly expressive score heightens every emotion, creating an opera that is both intimate and devastatingly powerful.
