Freeze Frame Opera began in 2016 with a vision to create new and exciting work from opera classics in order to invigorate the art form, to provide opportunities for outstanding local professional artists and to spread the love of opera to new audiences.

At our shows you will experience the raw power of the human voice right up close, in an interactive, multi sensory operatic experience.  We are to opera what 20/20 is to cricket.  A big hitting, condensed version of the game.

With a stand out cast of international quality singers who are Perth based professionals, we aim to spread our love of opera and introduce new audiences to its magic through this approach.

Freeze Frame Opera (FFO) made me reconsider my stance on traditional opera
— Tiffany Ha, Seesaw Magazine
it feels more like a club or pub gig than an opera, not just in the rawness and energy that emanate from the stage but the action that also spills from it.
— William Yeoman, The West Australian
And the poetic moments were heart wrenching, as out of the filth and anarchy shone humour and compassion, sung with immense beauty and committed acting. Opera at its best!
— Rosalind Appleby, Limelight Magazine
a fully immersive operatic experience far removed from the that sometimes infects the opera house.
— William Yeoman, The West Australian
As usual Freeze Frame Opera have taken the beating heart of opera with all its passion and humanity and put it straight into the lap of the audience. This is a fabulous and convicting night of theatre
